Grace House Has Now Registered With Payroll Giving Agency, Giveall.

Giveall is an HMRC approved Payroll Giving platform and pass on 100% of every donor’s payroll giving donation to us no later than two working days from the date they receive the funds from a donor’s employer. Payroll Giving is a valuable source of income for us here at the charity and receiving the funds on a Giveall scheme means we don’t lose out on commissions and unnecessary fees.

Payroll Giving allows a donor to make a tax-free donation to a charity, therefore there is an upfront benefit to every donor to support us in this way. For example, if you are a 20% tax-payer and set up a donation of £10 to us from your monthly salary, it is taken from your gross salary meaning that you only drop by £8 in your net salary but we will receive £10. Not only that, in these days where regular funds are vital to help us continue the work we do here at the charity, we can have access to the funds quickly.

If you are a business owner or part of an HR team and don’t know much about Payroll Giving but would like to add this to your employee benefits package, then please do send us an email and we will arrange for Giveall to call you and help you set up a scheme and share ideas on how to promote it to your employees. Many employers are now adding payroll giving to their existing benefits package as it demonstrates their CSR commitment to support good causes.

Grace House are reviving their most colourful event of the year with the return of Race for Grace. The 3k colour run will be held at Southwick Primary School, just around the corner from Grace House in Sunderland, on Sunday 21^st August 2022.

The event is kindly being sponsored by TriPak Ltd.

WL Distillery have been knitting up quite a ginpire over the year with their award-winning range, and now their signature bottles will be taking on a festive twist this season to support Sunderland based charity, Grace House.

The inspiration for WL Distillery comes from the founder and Managing Director, Scott Wilson-Laing spending his summers in his grandad’s garden.  Scott has called in extra support this season from his Nana to support a charity very close to his heart.

Nana Veronica has been working behind the scenes at the distillery to knit festive hat toppers for the 1st Edition Gin and Wilson’s Gin Club ‘Watermelon and Liquorice’, Each bottle sold will see a donation go the Grace House Christmas Appeal to support families this season.

Adam and Liz Thwaites decided to sell their house but wanted to do some good at the same time. After seeing other charities benefit from house raffles, they chose to support Grace House, a charity close to their hearts and are working hard to sell tickets for this incredible competition.

Adam said “Liz, my wife, works at Grace House and one day I was talking to the Registered Manager there about the need for a wheelchair accessible swing. Emily, my daughter, loves the swings in the park so much it made me feel sad that not everyone had the opportunity to have a go on them. We did a bit of googling and saw these swings are around £13,000 and I was shocked that they are so expensive.  We decided that we wanted to help and set a very ambitious goal of raising £50,000 so that not only would they be able to provide the swing but also help fund the charity so that it can continue the great work it does in the area.”

Laura Forbes, Corporate Fundraiser said “This is an incredibly generous way to support a charity and we are delighted Adam and Liz chose Grace House. The family are all working so hard to sell the tickets and are determined to raise as much for us as possible. If you are able to share their story to help raise awareness it would be appreciated!”
