To celebrate Grace House turning twenty this year, they are proud to reveal they are going back to the Roaring Twenties for this year’s Fundraising Ball, kindly sponsored by Richard Reed Solicitors, on 23^rd September at Rainton Arena.

Grace House enriches the lives of disabled children, young people, and their families across our region and funds raised on the evening will support activities such as short breaks, counselling sessions, youth groups and life skills.

Event sponsor, Sarah Reid from Richard Reed Solicitors said “We first learnt about Grace House during the pandemic, when most charities were struggling to raise funds. We learnt about the great work that they do for disabled children and their families in our area and felt that we just had to help. To date, our firm and team have raised money for the charity via various fund-raising opportunities to include sponsorship of numerous Grace House events, Christmas jumper days and sweepstakes, participation in a virtual Kilimanjaro trek, donation of the proceeds of sale of our popular Ricky Bears and by also being a founding member of their monthly networking event, Network for Good, where we get to meet other fantastic businesses in our area.  Well done Grace House on your first 20 years, happy birthday and here’s to many more.”

The ball will be held on Saturday 23^rd September, 2023 at Rainton Arena. VIP tickets are £650 for a table of 10 and include 2 bottles of wine on the table, priority seating and goody bags for guests. Standard tickets are £550 for a table of 10.

Grace House is calling for nominations to win a £1,000 Movement for Good Award from Benefact Group.

Grace House is encouraging people to nominate them for a chance to win £1,000 as part of Benefact Group’s Movement for Good Awards, which is giving over £1million away to charities for the fifth year running.

It’s quick and easy to nominate us online. Nominations remain open and you can vote online at www.movementforgood.com  

Winners will be drawn at random and the more times Grace House is nominated the more chance it has of being selected.

We are encouraging everyone to use their social media channels to ask people to vote for them to give the charity the best possible chance of winning.

Polish off your 9 irons and get ready for a fantastic day of golf at the Grace House Annual Golf Day on Friday 16^th June, kindly sponsored by the Unite Group.

This year our event takes place at the beautiful Ramside Golf Club playing the Prince Bishops Course. The course has spirit of adventure and features 16 water hazards, reachable par 5’s, driveable par 4’s, and short holes that demand shot-making skills from wedge to woods.

Grace House, a North East charity that support disabled children, young people and their families celebrated their 20^th anniversary with an Awards Ceremony at the Stadium of Light.  The award ceremony recognised the contribution of individual volunteers, staff, children, young people and organisations that continue to support the charity.

Jayne Secker, patron of the charity and daughter of original founder, Kathy Secker, hosted the awards with nominations for Young Volunteer, Inspirational Young Person, Community Champion, Corporate Champion and many more.

The Kathy Secker Lifetime Achievement Award was particularly poignant as the award was presented to long-serving volunteers, Ann and Robert Lillie.  The local couple have been helping the Charity since it was an idea in inception in 2003 and still continue to support the Charity to this very day, with Ann running tombola’s and Robert driving disabled children to activities.

Guests from across the North East attended the evening, including the Right Worshipful Mayor, Councillor Alison Smith, former and current trustees of Grace House, families and supporters from local businesses and the community adding to the wonderful atmosphere of the event.

CEO, Victoria Brown, commented, “Without the support of our staff, trustees, volunteers, fundraisers and of course, the young people and families who use our services, Grace House would not be the fantastic charity it is today”.

It was a delight to see everyone who has contributed to the success of Grace House, and we recognise the contribution of both nominees and winners. We were proud that so many turned up to the Awards night by attending to show their support and we are looking forward to the next 20 years.  We will continue to provide essential support to disabled children, young people and families within our region.”

After the success of the inaugural Expo for Good in 2022, we are delighted to announce the return of the event for 2023 with new headline partners CMYK Business Technology. With over 50 businesses due to exhibit and a fantastic line up of guest speakers, the event promises to be a fantastic day with the opportunity to raise your business profile, network with fellow exhibitors and delegates while hearing from influential business owners from the North East area.

Supporters will also have the opportunity to promote their business in our magazine which will be distributed to every exhibitor and delegate on the day.

CMYK Business Technology have been supporting Grace House for a number of years and after exhibiting at the 2022 event they decided to get more involved and sponsor Expo for Good 2023.

Matthew Brady, Captain of Ramside Golf Club for 2023, has very kindly chosen Grace House as his charity of the year. Matthew will be raising funds for the charity over the course of the year with raffles, charity golf days and more so keep an eye out on how you can get involved.

Matthew said “I am extremely proud to say that I have accepted the Captaincy for Ramside Hall Hotel & Golf Club for 2023. This really is a personal highlight, and I can’t wait to get started. This year’s charity will be Grace House North East and I can’t wait to get started with the amazing Laura Jane Forbes to see how much we can raise this year.”
