Understanding Autism Workshop at Grace House North East
For many parents and carers, hearing the word autism in relation to their child can bring lots of questions, worries and uncertainty.
If you are looking to better understand autism and feel more confident supporting your child, join us at Grace House for an Understanding Autism Workshop with Fiona and Lynda from The Toby Henderson Trust (TTHT).
The session will provide an opportunity to learn more about what it means to be autistic and explore how parents and carers can better understand and support their child.
During the workshop, Fiona and Lynda will cover key areas around autism and help to dispel some of the common myths and misunderstandings that can surround autism. They will use a range of accessible materials and draw on the lived experiences of autistic individuals.
The workshop has been co-produced by TTHT staff, with support from their A Team – Autistic Advisory Board – as well as the children and young people they work with, ensuring that autistic voices and lived experience are at the heart of the session.
